WILKES-BARRE — A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday in front of the Luzerne County Courthouse for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
Kirk, who co-founded the political nonprofit Turning Point USA, would have turned 32 on Tuesday , Oct. 14 . Earlier in the day, President Donald Trump — who found an ardent supporter in Kirk — awarded the late commentator a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah with ambiguous political beliefs, is accused of being Kirk’s killer.
