TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Last legislative session was not only drawn-out but also marked by political standoffs between Florida's governor, senate and house leadership. And the question this time around is whether those capitol clashes will make a return.
State lawmakers are back for another committee week at the capitol and as they prepare for the next session to kick off in January, tensions from last session may be on track to carry into the new year.
2025-2026 Legislative Session:
The 2025 session was one of the longest sessions in Florida's history. It was supposed to be the year of affordability but was filled with capitol clashes on immigration, property taxes, insurance concerns, tax cuts, and the Hope Florida scandal.
And next year, more fiery debates are expected once again
