Garlin Gilchirist II and Dana Nessel

On Sunday, Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II, who is running as a Democrat for governor, posted on X: “We have enough lawyers in the Democratic Party — we need builders with new ideas.”

Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel took offense, responding on X:

“This is insulting to the @DemocraticAGs who have done more to fight back against the lawlessness of the Trump administration than any other group of elected officials, and not what our party needs right now.”
