ROCKWELL CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Republicans have selected Wendy Larson as their nominee for a special election to fill a vacant seat in the Iowa House representing four northwest Iowa counties.
Larson, of Odebolt, got more support during tonight’s convention, in Rockwell City, than Republican Dan DeWall.
Larson advances to the December 9th special election to fill the House District 7 seat vacated by incumbent Mike Sexton. Last month, Sexton resigned to take a job in the Trump administration as Director for USDA Rural Development in Iowa.
Democrats nominate Rachel Burns during September convention
Another Odebolt, Iowa, woman is running on the Democratic side. Last month, Democrats held their own convention to make Rachel Burns their nominee in District 7.
