Singer Charli XCX is questioning the recent trend of pop star tour documentaries, with comments that were published one day after Taylor Swift announced a new docuseries about her Eras Tour.

In an interview with Vanity Fair , the “365” singer, 33, said she turned down an opportunity to create her own tour documentary because she “felt the market was already saturated with similar projects.”

“I feel like my problem with a lot of musician documentaries is, it often shows the musician coming up against some kind of opposition and eventually overcoming it to be the hero,” the singer, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, explained to the publication.

“And that’s just not been my experience, you know? Maybe it has been a lot of other people’s, and that’s awesome.”
