WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Spirit Aerosystems has promised to hire an additional 600 workers by the end of the year, which could mean a boost to the local economy.

Bekah Selby-Leach, Director of Wichita State’s Center for Economic Development and Business Research, said that over the last several years, the aerospace industry has been on shaky ground. She said that Spirit’s commitment to hiring is a good step forward.
