GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - The Georgetown Police Department is investigating a serious crash on I-75.

It happened Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. on northbound I-75 near mile marker 127.

Georgetown Police Assistant Chief Josh Nash told WKYT the crash involved three vehicles. Two vehicles have significant damage and were blocking the roadway.

Two people were taken to the hospital. Assistant Chief Nash says one person has life threatening injuries, the other was listed in critical condition.

A crash reconstruction unit was called to the scene to investigate. Investigators say according to on scene statements, traffic was stopped on the interstate at the time of the crash. One vehicle crashed into the back of another vehicle, causing it to hit a third vehicle.
