OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A new push from a Nebraska group -- aimed at changing how the state conducts elections.

“Advocates for All Nebraskans” announced today that they are launching two new petitions. One proposal aims to shift the state’s presidential electoral system to a winner-take-all system.

A bill to make Nebraska winner-take-all failed in the Nebraska Legislature in April.

The second petition would require a hand count of ballots for all elections in Nebraska.

One of the representatives announcing the petitions today says the effort is all about restoring the state’s voice -- and to put Nebraska back on the national stage.
