BEMIDJI — Bemidji High School volleyball head coach Alicia Kriens knew she’d have an inexperienced roster heading into this season.

With the majority of the 2024-25 Lumberjacks graduating last spring, Norah Jacobson was the lone varsity regular to return. However, when Jacobson went down with an injury in recent weeks, it forced BHS players to grow up quickly without their cornerstone player on the court.

The Jacks went 1-4 at the St. Michael-Albertville Tournament over the weekend, picking up their second win this season. And on Tuesday, Bemidji hung tough against East Grand Forks in a 3-0 loss that saw each set go down to the wire.
