On Thursday, the Michigan women’s soccer team came out with urgency, aggression and plenty of energy in U-M soccer stadium. Despite controlling positions for long stretches and generating several promising chances, the Wolverines couldn’t find the back of the net, and it cost them a win.
Michigan State junior defender Renee Watson proved to be the difference as the Wolverines fell 1-0 in a thrilling rivalry matchup. Less than two minutes into the match, Watson made a crisp cross, forcing Michigan to chase all match.
