OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 17-year-old Caden Speight after they say he faked his kidnapping, triggering an Amber Alert last month.
Speight was arrested on Tuesday on the charges of presenting false evidence, shooting into a conveyance, making a false report of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
“My first reaction was more sympathy toward the kid. You know, the cliche prayers go out, I hope he gets home safe,” shared resident Coddy Nagy. “You know, and then casting prayers about my own family because of the event that transpired there, you know, it’s like you don’t want anybody to really go through that.”
