PHOENIX (AZFamily) —Phoenix Fire rescuers say they helped save a hiker and reunite a lost dog with its owner, both found atop a mountain in north Phoenix Tuesday night.
Phoenix Fire officials said the department’s technical rescue teams responded to Shadow Mountain, near 26th Street and Cactus Road, around 7:30 p.m.
Video posted on social media showed firefighters actively making their way up the mountain with the help of the Phoenix Firebird helicopter.
Not long afterward, rescuers met up with a man who said he found a lost dog near the summit. The man said he needed help getting off the mountain as it was dark outside and firefighters safely walked down both him and the dog.
The dog and its owners have since been reunited. No one was hurt.
