SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - Students at Sun Prairie East High School got a unique opportunity on Tuesday to get hands-on experiences in nature.

Through a wildlife management course, students raised trout to release them into ponds at Token Creek Conservancy, helping create memorable experiences in and out of the classroom.

Agricultural educator at Sun Prairie East High School, Joshua Capodarco, says it was an exciting day to see the students make connections in the real world.

“I always want to emphasize to my students that what we do in the classroom connects to the real world, connects to careers, and this is one way that we do that,” said Capodarco.

The students began raising the fish in February through a program, ‘Trout in the Classroom.’
