In a tournament played in the eastern part of Virginia in a town that sits along the Rappahannock River, the contingent from Southwest Virginia made themselves right at home.
The Graham G-Men won the team title and Gate City’s Carter Wolfe was the individual champ at the VHSL Class 2 state golf tournament held on Tuesday at Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock.
Graham finished with a team total of 297, one shot ahead of runner-up Windsor. Lee High (305) and defending state champ Floyd County (308) were next in line and not too far behind.
It was the second state team crown for Graham, which won 2A gold in 2013. Graham finished second in the state a year ago.
