Police believe half a tonne of drugs seized in Western Sydney have links to the same Asian crime gang behind a thwarted hit at a daycare centre last week and the murder of a Bankstown mum.
Officers on Tuesday afternoon allegedly uncovered 287 kilograms of methamphetamine and 47kg of cocaine inside a Mays Hill home after zeroing in on two men leaving the unit.
It was one of several raids on "safe houses" across Western Sydney police say was conducted as part of an investigation into a South-East Asian organised crime network.
Detectives also uncovered $450,000 in cash, 20kg of pre-cursor chemicals, 81kg of heroin, three pistols and more than 300 bullets during the search warrants.
