GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan’s soccer team rallied from two goals down in the second half to force overtime, but Robinson seized a 5-3 South Piedmont Conference victory on Tuesday.
“Great comeback from 3-1 to get to overtime, but we still fell short,” East coach Nermin Hodzic said.
Patrick Sanchez, Noah Dillon and Donovan Carter scored goals for the Mustangs (9-7-1, 4-7).
Robinson (10-7-1, 7-3-1) solidified its grip on third place in the league.
East takes on rival Carson on Thursday. West Rowan is next for Robinson.

South Rowan fell 2-0 to Northwest Cabarrus on Tuesday. West Rowan fought hard against Concord but took a 4-0 setback.
