An investigation is underway after a man was found dead on the beach in Port Hueneme.

On Oct. 12, police responded to reports of a body on the sand at Hueneme Beach on the 600 block of Ocean View Drive around 4:36 p.m.

Port Hueneme officers and Ventura County Fire personnel arrived at the scene where they located the body and confirmed the man’s death.

Although the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, investigators said there were no signs of foul play.

The case will remain under investigation by Port Hueneme Police and the Ventura County Medical Examiner.

No further details, including the man’s identity, were released.
