The Supreme Court on Wednesday relaxed ban on bursting of green firecrackers in the Delhi-NCR region during Diwali and allowed it with certain conditions.

The apex court allowed the sale of green crackers from October 15 to October 21, 2025 and allowed the sales from the designated locations.

On Friday, the court indicated that it may allow use of green firecrackers during Diwali festival but with certain time duration.

On September 26, the court permitted the manufacturing of green firecrackers in Delhi subject to the condition that they will not be sold in the Delhi-NCR, due to the increasing level of pollution and deteriorating environmental condition in the region.
