Young, urban Indians are emerging as a powerful force driving climate action and social equity, with health and transparency — not cost — defining their sustainability choices. According to People & Planet Consumer Insights & Trends 2025, a global report released by Ingka Group (the largest IKEA retailer), India’s younger demographic is showing significantly higher engagement levels on environmental and inequality issues than their global peers.
The survey, conducted in partnership with research firm GlobeScan across 30 countries, highlights that two-thirds of people worldwide are worried about climate change and eight in ten are taking some form of action to reduce their environmental footprint.
