A Glasgow woman is to tackle Africa’s tallest mountain with her family in memory of her cousin, who died aged 10 after suffering an agonising condition.

Laura Forsyth, 33, was 15 years old when cousin Adana died due to complications of epidermolysis bullosa, also known as butterfly skin , a rare and incredibly painful genetic skin condition which causes skin to tear and blister at the slightest touch.

The condition caused little Adana pain every day of her life. Laura, who lives on the southside , said: "She suffered with it every single day of her life.

“She was covered in blisters from head to toe, and she was affected internally as well, with blistering to her eyes, mouth and throat. The condition is relentless, and she got no respite from it.
