Since Sunday when Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell slipped on the playing surface at Acrisure Stadium , the field itself has been a national story. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said the field was ‘borderline unplayable.’

“Thankfully Bos [Chris Boswell] took care of those kicks before the field got borderline unplayable,” Rodgers said

So, what is the solution? The field was re-sodded immediately after the game, but a new sod had not been laid down until before the Steelers’ first home preseason game.

In addition, the Pittsburgh Panthers play on the same field. That means that from the Steelers’ first preseason game until that point, seven games had been played on the field.
