The Department for Work and Pensions has issued a new update over "fast-tracking" certain benefits claimants. People could get their benefits quicker under a DWP shake-up, it has been revealed.
Paulette Hamilton, the Labour Party MP for Birmingham Erdington , reached out in the Commons "to ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of reviewing the effectiveness of the Special Rules for End of Life fast-tracking benefits system."
Labour MP Sir Stephen Timms, for East Ham, replied: "The primary way the Department supports people nearing the end of life is through special benefit rules which are known as the Special Rules for End of Life (SREL).
