A terrifying video showing a Xiaomi electric car engulfed in flames has been circulating on social media, sparking widespread concern and shock after it was confirmed that the driver was trapped inside and burnt to death.

According to reports by Free Press Journal, the incident took place in Chengdu and involved a Xiaomi SU7 model, which crashed into a divider and caught fire following a sudden power failure. The malfunction caused the car doors to lock automatically, leaving the driver unable to escape as flames quickly consumed the vehicle.

Bystanders in the video could also be seen attempting to break open the doors from outside, but all rescue efforts tragically failed, adding to the growing alarm surrounding the safety mechanisms of electric vehicles.
