Augusta-area activists this week plan to join the second round of nationwide "No Kings" protests.
Like the No Kings protest in Augusta on June 14 , events scheduled for downtown Oct. 18 will include groups who say that executive overreach of the Trump administration endangers fundamental U.S. freedoms.
The grassroots group Indivisible CSRA estimated that about 2,000 people took part locally in June. In a statement, the group called the Oct. 18 event "the next step in this growing movement, channeling that energy into yet another coordinated, nonviolent mobilization."
