COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nick Mangold, a former All-American center for Ohio State football, is in need of a kidney transplant.

In a message shared with the New York Jets community Tuesday, Mangold said he was diagnosed in 2006 with a, “genetic defect that has led to chronic kidney disease.”

The multiple-time All-Pro selection said he has no family able to donate, which is why he reached out to those associated with the Jets — a franchise he played for from 2006-16.

Mangold is in need of a kidney donor with type O blood. Those willing to help are encouraged to visit this site and follow these instructions .
