Deuces were wild on Tuesday afternoon as three Region 9 teams all advanced to the third round of the 4A girls state soccer tournament after scoring twice in wins at home in St. George.

Region 9 champion Snow Canyon and second-place finishers Desert Hills and Crimson Cliffs all produced two markers to keep their seasons alive.

On the road in North Logan, No. 15 Cedar stayed with No. 2 Green Canyon for most of the contest but fell 4-1 to the Wolves and the curtain dropped on the Reds season.

It wasn’t the prettiest win by the Region 9 champs, but it was enough to advance.

“Not our best performance, but we did what we needed to do to win the game,” Snow Canyon coach Connor Brown said in a text to St. George News.
