SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Firefighters responded to a fire at the Bridgewater Condos on Tuesday evening, October 14; the fire was quickly brought under control and resulted in minimal damage, according to the Moneta Volunteer Fire Department.

The Moneta Volunteer Fire Department along with units from Franklin County Fire & EMS and Smith Mountain Lake Marine Fire Rescue responded to initial reports of a fire on the roof at the Bridgewater Condos in Moneta near Smith Mountain Lake.

The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage; there were no reports of injuries and displaced residents, according to officials.

The Franklin County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin of the fire.
