The student vote held in more than 15,000 elementary, intermediate and high school students across the province resulted in a PC majority.

Students in 112 schools across the province participated in the mock election excercise.

The students elected a PC government with 22 seats and 38.5 per cent of the popular vote, with the Liberal Party winning 12 seats, and 39.1 per cent of the popular vote.

The students sent Jim Dinn back to the House of Assembly for the NDP which received 15.7 per cent of the popular vote.

Three Independent and non-affiliated candidates were elected by students including Paul Lane, Eddie Joyce and Ed Cole in Carbonear.
