(KIMT) -- As of Wednesday morning, some parts of SE Minnesota are observing peak fall foliage. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' Fall Color Finder, peak color is observed in portions of Olmsted, Wabasha, Winona, and Fillmore counties.

Near-peak color has moved southward into North Iowa, according to Explore Fall. The next week or so will be the best color of the year, even though colors are truly not too vibrant. That extremely warm stretch of weather a few weeks ago has impacted our fall colors.

Past peak color has taken over the Northland as we move past the typical peak fall foliage timeframe.
