Sydney has landed star Carlton goalkicker Charlie Curnow on a dramatic final day of the AFL trade period that saw two Swans head in the other direction to play for the Blues.
Curnow, 28, was one of the biggest names available during this year’s player exchange period, and both the Swans and Geelong submitted offers for the two-time Coleman medallist.
The deal, completed within three minutes of the AFL’s trade deadline on Wednesday, saw Curnow traded to the Swans for pick 11 in this year’s draft, a first-round pick in each of the next two years, and Will Hayward.
The Swans also received pick 31 and 42 this year, and a second-round pick in 2027.
