BRIDGEPORT, Ohio — Bridgeport High School senior quarterback Jaki Threet has made this football season one for the record books — and for the highlight reel.
During the Bulldogs’ 43-6 homecoming victory over the Valley Lumberjacks on Oct. 3, Threet rushed for about 220 yards, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark for the season, according to the Bridgeport School District.
Threet said he knew he was close to hitting the milestone but didn’t realize he had reached it until after the final whistle.
“They told me how many I would need,” Threet said. “During the game I didn’t know exactly how many, so I didn’t know until after the game. It was awesome. It was a goal that I’ve had for a long time, and I know not a lot of people have been able to do that at Bridgeport, so being able to make my mark
