ATHENS TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTRF) — A Bellaire man faces felony drug charges after Harrison County sheriff's deputies discovered more than 88 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

Deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office pulled over a vehicle in Athens Township on Oct. 16 for a traffic violation. During the stop, they searched the vehicle and found 88.16 grams of methamphetamine.

The driver, identified as Dean Francis Laquaglia of Bellaire, was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail.

Laquaglia was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a felony under the Ohio Revised Code because of the amount of methamphetamine recovered.

Sheriff Mark Touville commended the deputy responsible for the arrest, calling it "excellent police work."
