Middlesbrough Women will be part of history next weekend when their FA Cup clash with Cheadle Town is televised by TNT Sports.

Mick Mulhern’s side will start their Women’s FA Cup campaign by hosting Cheadle Town in round one. Making history, the game has been selected by broadcasters TNT Sports and will be the first live broadcast of a Women’s FA Cup first-round tie in history.

TNT’s selection of the game comes after the two sides had an excellent battle for the National League Division One North title last season - something Boro ended up winning on goal difference. It means the game has had to be moved from Boro Women’s usual Stockton Town home, and will instead be played at Bishop Auckland’s Heritage Park, home to Boro’s Under-21s.
