DEMOPOLIS, Ala. (WRBL) — Gov. Kay Ivey says on Tuesday, national leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, philanthropists, and local officials held a groundbreaking for the new Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences (ASHS).
The ceremony marked a milestone for education and workforce development in rural West Alabama, according to Ivey.
“This school represents more than bricks and mortar,” Ivey expressed.
Ivey has led the way in creating ASHS in the Legislature and its location in the rural West Alabama Black Belt.
“It is fresh potential for our young people and a milestone in addressing healthcare needs here in Alabama," Ivey said.
