CRANDON, Wis. (WBAY) - A Langlade County man is jailed facing felony charges in Forest County after a high speed pursuit.

An off-duty Forest County deputy reported a blue Audi with a “very loud exhaust” speeding north on Highway 55, passing in a no-passing zone just after 6:30 Tuesday morning.

An on-duty deputy spotted the speeding car near County Hwy S. As the deputy turned around to catch it, the Audi sped up.

The fleeing driver turned their headlights off in the dawn hour before passing a second deputy, who joined the pursuit. The chase exceeded 110 miles per hour.

The second deputy hit a deer, disable their patrol car and forcing them out of the pursuit.

The chase continued on Highway 8 into Crandon, where the driver turned around but was finally stopped in a business parking lot.
