AMGH recognizes staff during Medical Device Reprocessing Week

GODERICH – During Medical Device Reprocessing Week, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) is recognizing the professionals whose work is vital to patient care and infection prevention.

The week of Oct. 12-18 pays tribute to the role that the hospital’s medical device reprocessing team (MDR) plays in ensuring that medical instruments are thoroughly cleaned, sterilized and ready for use in patient care.

At AMGH, the team’s work extends beyond the hospital’s walls through a partnership with South Huron Hospital (SHH) in Exeter, together forming the Huron Health System. Through this collaboration, AMGH’s reprocessing team handles instruments for both hospitals, with items couriered between locations.
