Ten organizations, including Hooley Family Farms, The Bloom Project, and Building Queens Mentoring, Inc., will receive micro-grants of up to $10,000 for efforts to prevent youth violence.

Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker announced the recipients today during a late-morning news conference, following up on a funding initiative she proposed in late summer.

Other grant winners are:

•Fortlan: A chapter of Lanfest - Gaming for Good: Fortlan Youth Initiative.

•Rezz Life, a youth violence prevention program

•Fort Wayne United, which runs a late-night basketball program

•Crew Life, Inc.

•Building Kings Mentoring Groups, Inc. for a "Crown Up" program

•A Norman Perspective LLC - Flash Talks

•Pilgrim's Progress Community Development Corporation, Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE)
