MILAN, Ill. (KWQC) - At the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center in Milan, keeping pets healthy and care affordable go hand in hand.
Every Wednesday morning from 8 to 11 a.m., the center hosts a drive-up low cost wellness clinic that gives pet owners access to basic preventative services like vaccines, flea and tick prevention, and heartworm protection, all without an appointment.
Executive Director Patti McRae said the goal is to help pets stay healthy before problems start, and to make basic care accessible for everyone.
“We know times are tough and we just want to support people and help them to take good care of their pets, so we want to make sure that everyone gets their vaccines every year, that their pets stay healthy. Prevention really is the key,” McRae said.
