LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Central High School in Little Rock sent a notice out on Wednesday morning, signed by principal Nancy Rousseau, regarding a security incident.

The announcement stated a gun had been found in a student’s backpack at the school.

It continued that the student arrived at school with an unapproved backpack, which triggered the weapon detector when security searched it. On further inspection, a gun was found, Rousseau said, adding that the student tried to run away but was quickly apprehended.

“At no time was there a threat made toward anyone, and the student never entered the building,” Rousseau stated.
