SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Police in Sioux City are investigating a stabbing that sent one person to the hospital.

The Sioux City Police Department says at about 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, first responders were sent to the Morningside neighborhood. Authorities had received reports of an individual, covered in blood, walking in the 5900 block of Morningside Ave.

When they got to the area, police say they found a 24-year-old man with several stab wounds. They were taken to a Sioux City hospital before being sent to a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

“Department investigators were called to the scene and determined that this was a targeted attack, and the public is not in danger,” stated the Sioux City Police Department in a press release.
