The Boring Company has begun geotechnical exploratory borings across Nashville. Recent drilling took place at two key locations: near Vanderbilt University and at downtown intersections of First & Broadway and Fourth & Broadway, close to Riverfront Park and Tootsie’s along the city’s famed Honky-Tonk Highway.
These borings are part of preliminary work to assess ground conditions for the upcoming Music City Loop, a high-speed, zero-emissions underground transit system connecting downtown Nashville to the airport.
Construction on the initial tunnel segment is expected to begin later this year, with portions of the Loop projected to be operational as early as 2026.
