The New York Giants head into their week of preparation for a game against the Denver Broncos, who feature an outstanding defense, with a couple of noteworthy injuries to monitor on the offensive side of the ball.
Wide receiver Darius Slayton missed last Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a hamstring injury. Head coach Brian Daboll said before Wednesday’s practice that Slayton “may or may not do something” during practice.
That can’t be taken as an encouraging sign.
Starting center John Michael Schmitz remains in concussion protocol. Whether or not he will clear the protocol in time to play against the Broncos is unknown.
Veteran center Austin Schlottman filled in for Schmitz late in Thursday’s game, and would get the start if Schmitz is not available.
