The Capital Area Food Bank and its partners are stepping up to help federal workers in the D.C. area who have been furloughed or are working without pay during the shutdown.
As the shutdown drags on, federal workers really are starting to feel the effects. Some of them are now beginning to go without full paychecks or without any paychecks at all. That means obtaining necessities such as groceries may be getting difficult now.

That's where the Capital Area Food Bank comes in. Starting Tuesday, Oct. 21, they're going to be doing some special free food distributions for federal workers and contractors, the food bank announced .
Thousands of these workers live paycheck to paycheck, and if they don't get paid, a lot of t
