(KFVS) - A warning from the team of Grammy winner and Kennett, Missouri native Sheryl Crow, about fake online messages claiming to be from the singer, has been trending online.

According to a post on Sheryl Crow’s official Facebook page , there has been an increase in comments and posts from men saying they have been in direct contact with Sheryl Crow on social media.

The singer’s team said these men believe they have a relationship with Crow, or even that they are going to marry her.

Some of them have also been convinced to send money to the person pretending to be the singer or her team, in exchange for a one-on-one meeting. However, that meeting never happens.
