This is the 25th season of scares at a Surrey garden shop converted to "haunts" for Halloween.
Every October, Cougar Creek’s House of Horrors keeps Chris Pershick busy managing close to 120 staff members needed for the five themed haunted houses named Abomination, New Year's Evil, Echoes of Abbath, Zycho Zerkus and Sinneraria, on 72 Avenue in Newton.
On the busiest nights up to 45 makeup-wearing actors are employed to spook ticket-buyers who line up for the thrill of being horrified.
"We hire a lot of people including management, the actors, cashiers, the walkers out front, stage-show performers, everyone who builds and keeps it running," explained Pershick, managing director.
