Former New York Jets All-Pro center Nick Mangold took to X on Tuesday to share that he is in need of a kidney donor as he is battling a chronic kidney disease.
The former Ohio State star addressed his message to the New York Jets and Ohio State Buckeye communities.
“This isn’t an easy message to share, but I want to be open about what’s been happening with me and my health,” Nick Mangold said. “In 2006 I was diagnosed with a genetic defect that has led to chronic kidney disease.
“After a rough summer, I’m undergoing dialysis as we look for a kidney transplant. I always knew this day would come, but I thought I would have had more time.”
Nick Mangold was drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft . He went on to earn All-Pro honors three times and make the Pro Bowl
