SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) - Virginia State Police is offering guidance and recommendations to curb aggressive driving along our roadways.
This is after multiple highway shootings across the state.
VSP has investigated multiple shootings that have happened along interstates in recent weeks, each one prompting public concern.
That’s why they’re taking steps to remind motorists of safe driving behavior, all in an effort to reduce road rage incidents.
“Everybody’s angry nowadays for whatever reason. We as a society, have to calm down and not get so aggravated with people,” said Virginia State Police Sergeant Rick Garletts.
Garletts said data shows that between January 1, 2023, and October 13, 2025, there have been 236 reported shooting incidents on Virginia highways.
