SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A Sergeant Bluff man, previously ruled incompetent to stand trial, will stand before a jury next year.

According to court documents filed Friday, Oct. 10, 45-year-old Raymond Rogers was determined to be fit to stand trial, after he was ruled mentally incompetent in June 2024 .

In June of 2023 , Rogers pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, burglary, and stalking.

Rogers is accused of breaking into a Sergeant Bluff home in February 2023, shooting his wife, Ashley Rogers, and killing another man named Gerele Jones.

Authorities say Jones’s 12-year-old son called 911 and was rescued by law enforcement when they arrived on the scene.
