A Simcoe drug dealer who was stopped last year with more than $8,600 in cash and an array of fentanyl, cocaine and Dilaudid, said he was “looking forward” to going to prison so he could get a fresh start.
John W. Baverstock, 33, was given a four-year sentence but credited for already serving more than a year in jail awaiting trial, after pleading guilty to a series of offences from last year.
“He’s well entrenched in the drug subculture,” said Crown prosecutor Jamie Pereira at Baverstock’s sentencing hearing.
“He was just before the court last year and sentenced to 18 months for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and re-offended quickly.
