EVERETT — The Swedish Mill Creek Campus was evacuated for more than two hours for a “suspicious” package that later proved to be safe.

Around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to reports of a suspicious package located near the hospital at 13020 Meridian Avenue South, according to a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office social media post . First responders transported patients to other hospitals in the area.

At 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, all patients were evacuated, and the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad arrived at the scene. At 5:05 p.m., bomb techs determined the package contained no suspicious items, the post said.

Shortly after, the hospital resumed normal activity.
